Services

I offer counselling sessions to clients aged 15+ through in-person, online, and walk-and-talk therapy. In-person sessions are at 1892 W Broadway, Unit 200, Vancouver, BC. Online sessions are available through secure video call for anyone living in British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, or Newfoundland. Walk-and-talk therapy is available in Vancouver when weather conditions permit. Sessions are generally available Sunday-Thursday, however, there is flexibility available if needed.

Approach:
My approach is relational, collaborative, and client-centred, so techniques depend on the client’s goals and what resonates with them. For functional or behavioural goals, I often use solutions-focused and cognitive based approaches. For deeper work like trauma or grief, I lean towards parts work, narrative therapy and attachment-based techniques, among others. Through treatment, I aim to empower clients to achieve their goals and feel fulfilled. I like to use humour when appropriate to deepen comfort, understanding, and trust in the therapeutic relationship.

Fees:
My standard fee is $150 for a one-hour session. To make sure counselling is accessible, sliding scale pricing is available on an as-needed basis, please contact daniel@gorodetskytherapy.ca to discuss. I do not bill insurance companies directly, but I am eligible for insurance plans that cover work with Registered Clinical Counsellors. I will provide all documentation necessary and work alongside clients when needed to ensure reimbursement.

Languages:
In addition to English, I speak fluent Russian. While I grew up in Canada and speak Russian with a bit of an accent, I have worked with Russian-speaking clients using both my ability to speak the language and my understanding of the culture.
